York Catholic Schools Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday!

The York Catholic District School Board is proud to be Canadian and to mark Canada 150!

Patricia Preston, Director of Education said, “On July 1st, Canada will celebrate the 150th anniversary of confederation. This is an exciting time for our country and our schools have held many special events leading up to Canada Day that recognize this occasion. We are blessed to live in Canada, a country that celebrates diversity, democracy, and protects our rights and freedoms. Over the last 150 years, Canada has developed into a great nation and world leader. Happy 150th Birthday Canada!”

Schools across the York Catholic School Board have been celebrating Canada’s 150th Birthday with a variety of special events and activities that include: Red and White Days, aerial photos of the school community taken by drones, class projects highlighting historical Canadian events and people, a trip to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge, and much more.
