Important Information regarding School Transportation for 2017-2018

Student Transportation Services of York Region (STSYR) is the transportation consortium for the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB) and the York Region District School Board (YRDSB). STSYR provides service to more than 53,000 students and over 300 schools, covering more than 80,000 kilometers across York Region daily.

Parents/Guardians are reminded to confirm busing arrangements for September 2017 by visiting the STSYR website, and clicking the “Find Your Bus Stop” tab.

STSYR works closely with school bus operators to help ensure safe, reliable transportation is provided to students. Occasionally service times may be disrupted for various reasons, especially at the onset of the school year. We may experience bus delays and parents/guardians are encouraged to review the Late Bus Report.

To ensure priority transportation solutions are processed quickly and efficiently, parents/guardians are asked to direct transportation inquiries between now and September 22nd to their child’s school. STSYR staff will work directly with schools and transportation service providers to ensure priority arrangements are made. STSYR is focused on the following transportation priorities: overloaded school buses, eligible students for whom we need to arrange transportation and routes that are not operating on schedule.

Please note service requests related to the priorities listed above will be responded to ASAP, but resolutions may take up to 72 hours. All other requests (such as bus stop locations reviews) will not begin to be processed until the 3rd week of school.

Parents/guardians should be prepared to make alternative arrangements until such time as they are advised by the school.

Thank-you for your cooperation and best wishes for a safe and successful school year.
