Our Lady of the Rosary CES celebrates differences and recognizes similarities amongst its school community

Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Elementary School in Concord recently hosted the “Culture, Community and Spirit” event. Community members gathered to celebrate diversity and the cultural differences that make each of us unique.

The event was made possible by the Ministry of Education’s Parents Reaching Out Grant – which encourages parent engagement at the local, regional and provincial levels – and the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School Council.

Attendees were entertained by many cultural dances and performances and were engaged by the inspirational stories told by York Catholic’s Michael Way Skinner, Coordinator of Religion, Family Life and Equity.

“We thank our Trustee Cathy Ferlisi for attending and our Superintendant of Schools, Diane Murgaski for being present,” said school principal Jenny DiMaria. “We hope to be able to celebrate our differences and recognize our similarities in future events to come.”
