At San Lorenzo Ruiz Catholic Elementary School, students have been following the wise words of Mother Teresa.
“If you can’t feed a million people, then feed just one.”
These words have inspired students to get into the Thanksgiving spirit by eagerly bringing in non-perishable foods to contribute to the school’s Thanksgiving Food Drive.
The fifth annual food drive kicked off on September 22 and will continue until October 5. The school has already been overwhelmed by the generosity of the San Lorenzo Ruiz community and their support of needy Markham families.
An abundance of non-perishable and canned goods will eventually be donated to the Markham Food Bank.
