The criteria for the site selection was mandated by the province, and for the first year it was as follows:
Consultation with York Region District School Board, York Region, Ministry of Child and Youth Services, Ministry of Education, childcare providers, Best Start Centres, before and after school providers
Available space in the school
Sufficient kindergarten rooms, if possible
No childcare provider on site
