The Network and Infrastructure Support staff, provide support for all network segments including wide area networks (WANs), local area, networks (LANs), wireless networks (WLANs), and remote access. NIS is responsible for the planning, installation, operation, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the YCDSB communications network. NIS provides high speed data, video, control and monitoring communications services. In addition, NIS is responsible for providing a set of board-wide network services (e.g. electronic mail and LDAP) and other information services as well as their planning, installation, operation, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
