Laptop Learning Program

The York Catholic District School Board's Technology Plan identifies St. Augustine CHS as an eLEARNING school. Accordingly, information technology will be used in the school curriculum to enhance and extend learning and better prepare our students for the future.

A key component of the eLEARNING approach will be the implementation of a Laptop Learning Program that will be available to all grade 9 students on a voluntary basis. This program will enable students to use their notebook computer, various curriculum-specific software application programs and the Internet to enhance and extend the study of their Grade 9 compulsory courses.

For further information, please contact Ron Crocco, principal, at 905-887-6171.

St. Robert CHS

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

St. Robert CHS is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as an IB World School offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. This is a prestigious, worldwide programme that offers a rigorous and intellectually challenging pre-university course of study, leading to examinations, to highly motivated students in the final two years of secondary school.

The IB Programme allows graduates to fulfill requirements of various national systems and gives students the opportunity to investigate disciplines at a greater depth and breadth than they might normally experience. Successful diploma candidates will receive both the IB Diploma and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

St. Robert’s first class of IB graduates achieved 100% success in July of 2005. In our second class (July 2006) one of our students, Sindu Govindapillai, achieved a perfect IB score of 45/45. Of the 63,000 IB students worldwide, fewer than 100 earn perfect scores each year.

For futher information on the IB Programme, contact: Dan Zaroski, principal, or Rita Lettieri, IB coordinator, at 905-889-4982.
