TEACHER APPLICANTS

Thank you for your interest in teaching at York Catholic District School Board. We are one of Ontario's top school boards in student achievement and collaborative learning. We employ over 3,600 staff and administrators.

York Catholic District School Board's recruitment policy is to hire qualified teachers as required to meet the staffing needs of our school community, giving preference to those teachers capable of initiating students into the fullness of Christian life in the Roman Catholic tradition. The board is also committed to the principles of equity and human rights.

Paper applications are no longer accepted. Certified teacher candidates are required to submit their applications using our online process. Please read the following instructions below before clicking on the Launch Online Application button below.

The following documents should be uploaded with your employment application:
Cover Letter – Addressed to Ms. Stella Dizes, Manager of Human Resources, Teacher Personnel
Current Resume - Your resume may be updated at any time
Current Pastoral Reference – a completed Priest Reference Form or a current letter within the past 12 months from your Parish Priest.

Practice Teaching Reports – at least one if you are a Faculty of Education student (others MUST follow as you receive them) 
Teacher Evaluations – at least one if you are or have been on contract with a school board
Current Letter of Reference – at least one should be provided (can be academic or non-academic related)
Certificate of Qualification - Applicants must submit a copy of this document after receiving it from the Ontario College of Teachers. If you do not have a certificate of qualification when completing your online application use "pending" in the drop down menu
Religious Education Pre-Service – a certificate or other evidence of having taken this course at your Faculty of Education (if it was offered)
University Transcripts (Undergraduate) – although it is not a mandatory document at time of review, it is appreciated by principals when they are assessing a candidate’s suitability for a particular opening
