York Catholic's Michael Way Skinner honoured by CARFLEO

The York Catholic District School Board proudly congratulates Michael Way Skinner, Coordinator: Religion, Family Life, & Equity, who recently was recognized with this year’s Father Angus MacDougall Award for Excellence in Family Life Education by CARFLEO.

CARFLEO (Catholic Association of Religious and Family Life Educators of Ontario) honoured Michael Way Skinner for the work he has done in leading our Board’s Equity, Inclusive Education and Family Life programs and initiatives.

The Fr. Angus MacDougall Award is an annual award that is given to an Ontario Catholic family life educator who demonstrates excellence in:

  • Providing outstanding contributions to family life education at the provincial level
  • care and commitment to engaging and supporting student learning in family life education
  • knowledge and demonstration of best practices in family life education
  • innovations in the practice of family life education
  • on-going contributions to the field of family life education beyond their own classroom
  • leadership in initiating and sustaining opportunities for the growth of quality family life education with colleagues
  • continuous updating and improving of personal practice as a family life educator

“It is truly an honour to represent the York Catholic District School Board and receive this award,” said Michael Way Skinner.

Members of YCDSB’s Religious Education Team, Curriculum Department, and School Leadership Team attended the March 26th CARFLEO Conference, where Michael was honoured.
