St. Bernadette students learn the ins and outs of video making

This spring, JK – Grade 6 students at St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School in Sutton spent two weeks working on The Director's Cut, a media project where students had the opportunity to work in small film crews mentored by filmmakers and media specialists.

Each class at the school spent a full-day participating in a workshop where they learned and gained experience in all facets of the video creation process including pre-production, filming, production and marketing.  The workshop promoted hands on, collaborative technology opportunities for each student.

The students will be provided with a DVD of the final cut and the videos created will also be available on the school's website, so students can share their work with their family and friends.

This initiative was funded thanks to the Northern Initiative and fundraising by the school and its CSC.
