Woodbridge students win Earth Hour 'Environmental Jeopardy'

On Saturday, March 25th, students from St. Jean de Brebeuf CHS in Woodbridge participated in the city of Vaughan's Earth Hour event.

The school's EcoClub members participated in a game of "Environmental Jeopardy" where it won in a landslide victory. The team was awarded a prize of $250 to help with the school's eco initiatives.

Students also enjoyed viewing the various exhibits that were set up at the Earth Hour event, including ones on: how much carbon a tank of gas puts in the atmosphere; the energy required to light one bulb; and mixing a smoothie using your own power. Guests over the age of 21 also had an opportunity to test drive a Tesla. Students were given white spruce and white cedar seedlings that they plan to plant to help green the school's outdoor classroom.
