Friday Night Lights

St. Joan of Arc CHS recently hosted its first ever, "Friday Night Lights" event on the school's state-of-the-art turf field.

Conceived and organized by The school's Grade 11 and 12 Leadership Students, the event featured two evening rugby games, between St. Joan of Arc's junior and senior rugby teams facing off against Father Bressani's junior and senior rugby teams, respectively.

More than 600 attendees, including staff, students and families from both high schools attended the event, to cheer the athletes on. With barbeque, cotton candy, popcorn and other treats, guests were offered the opportunity to experience high school spirit at its best.

In the end, both schools walked away as winners. Father Bressani CA won the junior rugby game with a final score of 12-0, while St. Joan of Arc CHS won the senior rugby game, with a score of 35-5. Each winning team received the Vaughan Yoemen Cup in honour of their hard fought and spirited win

Congratulations to all players, participants, and coaches Robert Fiore, Peter Agati, Daniel Nicoletti, Leo Zambito, Mark Redigonda and Melissa Humenny. Thanks also goes to SJA leadership students and their teacher, Alex Caschera.

The two schools look forward to continuing this friendly rivalry in an annual Friday Night Lights event.
