The St. Elizabeth CHS Envirothon Team consisting of students, Francis Lao, Michaela Grossi, John Laird McDonald, Vanessa Sinagoga and Olivia LaCapprara claimed first prize at the Regional Envirothon on May 28th and earned it the right to compete at the Provincial Envirothon in Lindsay, Ontario. For some of the team members this was their third consecutive win at the regional level.
The Provincial Envirothon competition was held May 29th – June 1st at Fleming College and included 18 other teams from across Ontario that had won their regional competition. The St. Elizabeth CHS team won three first place category rankings in aquatics, invasive species, and the highly coveted presentation category. Congratulations to the St. Elizabeth team, which placed 2nd overall in the province, narrowly losing to University of Toronto School (UTS). Each student on the St. Elizabeth team won a $250 cash prize from the organization Maple Leaves Forever and a tree planting for their school from the organization LEAF.
