Michael Nasello, Superintendent of Education: School Leadership and Safe Schools was recently appointed the Director of Education for the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington District School Board (PVNC). He will assume his new role on September 1, 2016.
Michael has had an outstanding 31 year career as a Catholic educator with York Catholic. He began his career as an educational assistant in 1979. He spent 11 years as a teacher in both elementary and secondary schools before moving into school administration in 1999. Michael has spent the last 8 years as a Superintendent of Education for Secondary Schools and also held the demanding portfolio of Safe Schools.
"I am humbled and honoured to be appointed as Director of Education for PVNC," said Michael. "As I prepare to embark on this new journey ahead, I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to work with my colleagues on the Senior Team, staff, parents, principals, Trustees and especially students at York Catholic. As a Catholic educator, I have been blessed to have the opportunity to live my vocation."
