St. Charles Garnier student serving as a Legislative Page

Alex B. a Grade 8 student at St. Charles Garnier CES recently began his term as a Legislative Page at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. He will serve as a Page from November 16 – December 10, 2015.

The Page Program is a full-time supplementary educational program that engages young students in the parliamentary and political process. As a Page, students learn how the province is governed, how laws are made, and assist in this process. They are required to memorize all of our MPPs and provincial ridings, and the chamber seating plan. They become familiar with day-to-day activities of the legislature and learn all about the roles and functions of key parliamentary figures and the Officers of the House, such as the Speaker.

St. Charles Garnier Catholic Elementary School is very proud of Alex and wish him well as he serves his term of duty.
