Out of Boundary Registration Procedures for
Full Time Kindergarten


  • All students must register at their Catholic home school.

  • If your home school does not have Full Time Kindergarten, and you wish Full Time Kindergarten, you still must register at your home school.

  • Your request for Full Time Kindergarten will be processed at your home school as follows:
  1. You will complete a Kindergarten Registration package with all supporting documents.
  2. You will fill out an Out Of Boundary Application Form for Full Time Kindergarten (TCH 19, FTK). Transportation will not be provided.

  3. Your home school will forward your application to your requested Full Time Kindergarten School.
  4. On February 24, 2010, applicants’ names will be randomly drawn in a lottery that will occur at York Catholic District School Board. This lottery will determine your child’s number on the waiting list for the Full Time Kindergarten School.

  5. After May 25, 2010, you will be notified whether or not your child has been accepted in the Full Time Kindergarten School.

  6. If your child is not accepted in the Full Time Kindergarten School, your child will automatically be registered in the home school.
  7. If your home school is St. Agnes of Assisi, St. Emily, Fr. Frederick McGinn or St. Joseph(Markham), please see below for special registration procedures:

                                                                                            1. St. Emily/St. Agnes of Assisi – a priority lottery will be held for students in St. Emily and St. Agnes of Assisi for possible registration into the Full Time Kindergarten Program at St. Francis of Assisi.

                                                                                              1. Fr. Frederick McGinn – some families in the Fr. Frederick McGinn boundary area will be eligible to participate in a priority lottery for possible placement in the Full Time Kindergarten program at Holy Spirit. Eligible students live within the following boundary:

                                                                                                                        1. NORTH Sunset Blvd/Bethesda Road
                                                                                                                          EAST Highway 404
                                                                                                                          WEST Yonge Street
                                                                                                                          SOUTH Stouffville Sideroad
                                                                                                              1. St. Joseph (Markham) – some families in the St. Joseph (Markham) boundary area will be eligible to participate in a priority lottery for possible placement in the Full Time Kindergarten program at Kateri Tekakwitha. Eligible students live within the following boundary:

                                                                                                                NORTH 16th Avenue
                                                                                                                EAST Reesor Road
                                                                                                                WEST 9th Line
                                                                                                                SOUTH Highway 407
                                                                                                                • PLEASE NOTE:
                                                                                                                  Effective immediately, regular Out of Boundary Procedures
                                                                                                                  (TCH 19) are suspended in all Full Time Kindergarten Schools.
