St. Peter CES ‘drums up’ awareness about bullying prevention

During Bullying Prevention and Awareness Week at St. Peter Catholic Elementary School in Woodbridge, the school’s Spirit Club led initiatives that reinforced the school’s commitment to maintaining a safe and caring environment.

Spirit club members provided daily tips to students and staff about the importance of loving and respecting one another as Catholic learners. Students and staff also recited the ‘Anti-Bullying Pledge’ each day of the week:

I believe that everybody has the right to live in a community where they feel safe, included, valued and accepted regardless of differences.

I pledge to be respectful of others and stand up against bullying whenever and wherever I see it.

To top off the week, and to the excitement of students and especially teachers, St. Peter CES welcomed Dan Todd, Drummer of Platinum Blonde. Students and staff from St. John Bosco CES also attended this special event.

Todd shared his experiences with bullying and how it has affected his life.  He also spoke about his
career, and the many musicians he has worked with including: Honeymoon Suite, Alan Frew of Glass Tiger, Gord Deppe of The Spoons, Allannah Myles, Saga, Survivor, and Loverboy.
