Thornhill schools celebrate Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Elementary School in Thornhill recently welcomed Baba Williams who delivered an African Drumming and Character Building Workshop. Grade 3- 8 students from from nearby Holy Family Catholic Elementary School also attended the workshop.

Students enjoyed learning about African culture and a concept called, “Ubuntu,” which focuses on promoting humanity towards others, benevolence, and kindness. The presentation was highly engaging, interactive, and educational.
