YCDSB celebrates World Teachers’ Day, October 5th

Held annually on October 5th since 1994, World Teachers’ Day was founded by UNESCO in recognition of the significant contributions of teachers worldwide. This year’s theme reminds the global community that the right to education cannot be achieved without the right to trained and qualified teachers.

The York Catholic District School Board extends a heartfelt thank you to all of our teachers for their commitment to Catholic Education, and for their guidance and leadership of the students and families they serve.

Prayer

God of all knowledge and wisdom, Send your spirit down upon all teachers today as we celebrate the service they provide for our students and families.

Where affirmation is needed may they encounter words that praise their work and dedication.

Where encouragement is needed, may they encounter words that call them to recognize that living the vocation of teaching involves both gift and sacrifice.

Where appreciation can inspire, may teachers be surrounded by gratitude and celebration for all they do.

May your Spirit of Comfort rest upon all who teach, that they may rest in the comfort of your love.

Amen.
