St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Vaughan’s Maple community is home to over 1,200 students representing over 50 countries. On May 2nd, it will once again host its annual Taste of Joan event, which celebrates the cultural diversity of the school’s students and staff.
The theme for this year’s event is “Passport to Flavour,” and visitors will have the opportunity to try many different dishes from various ethnic backgrounds. The event will also feature live entertainment including dance, music, as well as cultural dress and fashion, diverse activities and more.
From Asia to America, Africa to Europe and beyond, St. Joan of Arc students and staff take great pride in sharing their passion for their heritage and are proud to showcase it as a way of celebrating Canada’s diversity. This event strives to promote unity that transcends the school and local community. Approximately 400 people are expected to attend this year’s Taste of Joan event.
All are welcome at this inclusive event. Event profits will be donated to support the building of St. Andre Bessette Roman Catholic Parish. Tickets are $5 in advance, or $7 at the door. The 13th annual Taste of Joan will take place on Thursday, May 2, 2019 beginning at 7 p.m. St. Joan of Arc CHS is located at 1 St. Joan of Arc Avenue, in Maple, Vaughan.
