Blessed Trinity wins second in Classroom of the Future Challenge

Congratulations to Blessed Trinity Catholic Elementary School‘s Media Film Club for recently winning second place in the Classroom of the Future Challenge! Blessed Trinity is the first-ever York Catholic school to place in this challenge.

The Classroom of the Future Contest is hosted by MindShare Learning Technology. It challenges teachers and students from across Canada to enter a short-video contest that showcases innovative classroom practices and future goals using technology. Over 100 video entries were received for the 2019 challenge and among the winners were two schools from Ontario and one school from the Northwest Territories. ¬†According to Jon Dermott, Vice President for Dell EMC Canada, the lead sponsor for this contest, “We need to support our teachers with the tools and resources to embrace new learning environments, redefine classrooms, and drive successful student outcomes.”

As winners of this Challenge, Blessed Trinity CES will receive a variety of tools and resources, such as a 3-D Printer, robots, and additional technology to support the transformation of two learning spaces. Staff and students are grateful to have received this award as it contributes to students’ learning, engagement, and Blessed Trinity’s continued development of the global competencies.
