Young Entrepreneurs at St. Mary Immaculate CES Win BMO Financial Innovation Award

Congratulations to the Grade 2 students in Mrs. Swirla’s class at St. Mary Immaculate CES in Richmond Hill for winning the BMO Financial Group National Student Innovation Award Enterprising Spirit. This award recognizes classes that leverage available and unique talents/resources of teacher, business partner, students, school and/or communityThe award is one of only 12 awards given out across Canada for participation in The Learning Partnership’s Entrepreneurial Adventure Program.

Paired with a business mentor from BMO, Binaifer Khushrooshahi, this unstoppable class worked together from initiation to completion, creating their very own company, ‘Glow for You,’ producers and marketers of teacup candles, with proceeds going directly to the SickKids Foundation.

Over 300+ teacups were created and sold, with $2500+ being donated to the SickKids Foundation.  Well done students!
