St. Mark celebrates active living in support of Camp Ooch

Students, staff, families, and friends of St. Mark Catholic Elementary School teamed up with neighbouring school, Glad Park PS on May 30th to celebrate Active Living and to raise funds for Camp Ooch.

The event encouraged students, parents, and guardians to choose an active form of travel to get to and from school, such as walking, rolling (cycling), or even driving halfway to school and walking the rest of the way.

This free community event featured Food Trucks, Talent Show, Freddie-the-Footprint Club Card Prizes, Scooter Training, Stretching, Camp Games, Joy Ride Bicycle Course, Tree Planting and much more. It also featured several York Catholic healthy living and environmental experts! Thanks to our YCDSB Active Travel Team for helping to organize this event.

All food truck proceeds and general donations directly benefited Camp Ooch, a privately-funded community, in-hospital and overnight camp committed to giving kids affected with cancer a sense of joy, self-confidence, and belonging, at any stage of their cancer journey.
