York Catholic students have skills

This spring, 34 students from ten York Catholic high schools competed in the 30th annual Skills Ontario Competition, at the Toronto Congress Centre. This year for the first time in YCDSB history, our students won Gold in qualifying categories to advance to national competitions.

As the world’s largest trades and technology competition for youth at secondary and post-secondary levels of experience, the event also featured an interactive career fair in the heart of the competition. Over 70 businesses, colleges, apprenticeship programs, unions and government programs set up booths, handed-out information and provided activities related to the skilled trades and technologies.

In June, four students represented YCDSB and all of Ontario in the Skills Canada National Competition in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Congratulations to all our competitors for living your passion, and representing YCDSB!  Special recognition goes out to:
