In honor of Asian Heritage month, many students helped organize special events on the different traditions Asian countries celebrate. Food had been brought for sale, stories were being told, posters had been made and traditional clothes were worn as well. Many were surprised by the variety of food that had been made and they surely enjoyed the new taste of foreign dishes. The amount that was raised for the food and the civvies day reached approximately $800.00 and this money was sent to support Asian countries. It was an incredibly nice event; showing the diversity and embracing other cultural backgrounds. I strongly recommend students participate in these sort of events; not only for the educational purposes but also for the fun!
