Grade 9 Orientation Tuesday, September 4th, 2018

Welcome Grade 9’s to your first day of High School!

This is a reminder that on this day, grade 9 students will only be in attendance as the grades 10-12 students will begin school on Wednesday, September 5th.  Students are expected to be in full uniform and arrive at 8:00 a.m. Once students arrive they are to proceed to the main foyer where they will pick up their Muskoka Woods t-shirt and be directed to their homerooms.  In homeroom, students will be given their timetable as well as a lock and assigned to their lockers.

We are encouraging students to adopt a personal system of time management or calendar (i.e. graphic organizer or Google calendar) as school agendas will no longer be issued.  Our Teacher librarian, Ms. Casa Todd will address options to all students during our assembly. In the meantime, it would be beneficial for parents and students to discuss what personal system will be used and initiate this first thing as the semester begins.

The remainder of the day will follow the student’s 4 period timetable.  Students will participate in activities, a tour of the school, as well as an assembly. At the assembly we will further discuss the role Chaplaincy, Administration, Guidance, Library Commons, Student Government (Clubs, Councils and Committees) IB, Special Education has within our school along with a visit from our  School Resource Officer, Constable Stephanie Liddell. Lunch is included on this day from our cafeteria where pasta, water and a cookie will be served). Lastly, students will be instructed on dismissal and bussing procedures which will mark the conclusion of our day.

We look forward to welcoming our grade 9 students to a success year at Cardinal Carter.
