Library Orientation with a Twist

All of our grade 9 students go to the Library Learning Commons during their homeroom period to learn about the space, the resources available, and how to access it. After all, the Library Learning Commons will be their main source of information for the four years they will be at Carter.

In an effort to engage the modern learner, the Orientation is designed around the concept of an Escape Room (Breakout EDU in the Education World).

As students collaborate together to solve their clue, they need to use critical thinking skills, communication, and a little bit of risk-taking to unlock the mysteries of the Library Learning Commons.

Students will continue to access the Library Learning Commons for the rest of their four years here.  The Breakout EDU-style Library Orientation is a way to get them moving and thinking!

Ask your child about it!
