Learning and Failing and Succeeding: Rube Goldberg device

Mrs. Brand’s grade 10 Technological Design class was challenged to design and make a working Rube Goldberg device that progressed through 8 different actions with the final action turning on the light switch.

Students had to design, iterate, re-design until their concept worked. What a great opportunity to build resilience and to achieve success by failing and trying again.

Ethan DeFina – St. John’s Ambulance Award

On December 13, 2018, Ethan DeFina, our very own Carter grade 11 student, received the prestigious St. John’s Ambulance Award at York Regional Police Headquarters. He received the award for performing CPR on his father when he was only 14 years old. Breakfast of Champions: Celebrating Students and Catholic Character
