May 21, 2020 Update

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am sure everyone is happy to see the sun is out and warm weather seems to have arrived. It is just what we all need!

Earlier this week, The Minister of Education announced that schools will remain closed for the remainder of this school year. Please know that we will continue to reach out to you through our on line learning and messages from staff and the school. Should you need any support, please let us know.  All of us at Good Shepherd CES miss our students and their families and look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Planning is underway to provide some special recognition for our grade eight students that are graduating this year. We ask that grade eight parents check their e-mails for messages from our grade eight teacher. Many are also wondering about student personal belongings left at the school. A plan is currently being developed to provide a way of getting these items back to students. I am pleased to share with you that our staff are working hard on a yearbook. It will be a great keepsake. Information for on line sales will be coming home to you next week.

I would like to thank our parents and students for all of your hard work at home to make on line learning work while juggling so many other demands. I would like to thank our students and families for your continued support, kind words and positive feedback to our staff for their hard work in providing distance learning.  Thank you to our staff for the countless hours you are putting in to provide engaging lessons and support for the students in your care. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive school community and dedicated staff.

I leave you with a prayer and my best wishes for a wonderful Friday and weekend!

Lord Jesus Christ, right before your Ascension into heaven

you told your apostles to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth upon receiving the Holy Spirit.

Inspire us to spread your Gospel message in word and deed.

Bring us together as disciples who believe that love is stronger than death.

Give us wisdom and courage to be messengers of hope to our world.

We make this prayer in the name of Jesus, the light of the world.

Amen.

Yours in Catholic Education,

R. M. Amos
