“The commandment we have from Him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.” 1 John 4:20

Our committee will assist the Board in responding to intercultural, identity, and discrimination issues in ways that are thoughtful, compassionate, collaborative, ethical, and transformative. This committee will continue to eliminate both institutional and individual prejudice and discrimination in policies and practices so that all students are treated fairly and feel supported. An integral part of our initiative is to implement strategies to increase trust and cooperation with all stakeholders through cultural and racial understanding of our diverse students and their families. We believe that the fostering of understanding and awareness of other cultures/races is vital to creating a safe and welcoming environment for our students and staff. We need to create an open access for all cultures and races at YCDSB. It is time that we celebrate and experience the power, beauty, wealth of knowledge and embrace the influence of culture. Our committee will highlight how fortunate we are at YCDSB to be blessed with such a diverse community and celebrate the God given gifts that this diversity awards to us all.
