The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging, but balanced program of education that prepares students for university, in Canada or abroad. This is a two year programme and has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.
The DP encourages students to develop the intellectual, critical and analytical skills and philosophical background necessary to evaluate and effectively use the knowledge they have acquired. Students earn two diplomas at the same time- an internationally recognized Baccalaureate Diploma, and an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
THe aim of the IB Programme is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better world.
IB learners strive to be: Inquirers, Knowledgeable Thinkers, Effective Communicators, Open-Minded and Caring Risk-Takers, who are Balanced and Reflective individuals.
Students entering into the International Baccalaureate Programme will enter high school in the Pre-IB Programme commencing in Grade 9 and 10. This programme prepares students for the IB Programme in Grade 11 (year 1) and Grade 12 (year 2).
