A Successful Cross Country Season Comes to an End

The 2019 Cross Country season is coming to an end, and what a great season it was! This year Holy Spirit’s Cross Country team consisted of a total of NINETY-TWO athletes from grades four through eight. A whopping FIFTY-FOUR of those athletes were intermediates! All runners participated at our meet in early October which was held at Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area.

On October 3rd, Holy Spirit runners ran with determination and skill. Many pushed past personal limits and runners gave it their “all”.  The combined hard work of all runners resulted in Holy Spirit placing 4th of 10 schools. Thank you to all athletes who consistently dedicated their lunch recesses to training.  Thank you also to the long list of teacher-coaches who worked diligently to train and prepare athletes for the run.

A special congratulations to Olivia H. (grade 4), Demetri K. (grade 7), and Katelyn C. (grade 8), who will move onto the YCDSB board finals. We wish Olivia, Demetri, and Katelyn the best of luck on Tuesday, October 22nd, when they represent Holy Spirit at the finals in Stouffville.
