Butterfly Garden & Outdoor Classroom Re-juvination

You may recall that our ECO team was awarded a $5,000.00 grant from TD Friends for the Environment to re-juvinate our butterfly garden.  The work was completed this summer and students will begin to enjoy the outdoor classroom.  New logs surround a beautiful garden with native plants that attract butterflies.  The beautiful service berry tree will provide shade during the hot, summer months.  The smaller benches will be used to play Tic-Tac-Toe.  Teachers will bring classes outdoor for specific lessons related to the environment and to support positive mental health and well-being.  A very special thank you to Mrs. Jennifer Deitrich for submitting the application form on behalf of the Healthy Schools Committee and to Madame Turchiaro for her assistance and motivation. Also, thank you to TD Friends for the Environment for supporting this project.  Please come for a visit to see our beautiful garden.
