Schoolyard Safety

We are trying to keep our schoolyard safe by  reminding students regularly to play safely and obey these basic rules:

♦ No physical contact – keep hands and feet to yourself

♦ No contact sports

♦ Use soft balls such as tennis balls, Nerf balls

♦ Keep the snow on the ground – no throwing/kicking of snow, NO SNOWBALLS

♦ Respect the snow forts built by others

♦ No sliding on the ice or hills

♦ Stay within the school boundaries

♦ Play co-operatively

♦ Use appropriate words to solve conflicts

♦ Call the teacher on duty when you need assistance

♦ Always use kind words and kind actions.

Please ensure that your children have indoor shoes and appropriate clothing for wintertime fun. Children should come to school with boots, hats, mittens and proper outerwear such as waterproof jackets and snow pants. Primary students in particular should have a change of clothes in the event that their socks or pants get wet. These items of clothing should be clearly labelled and kept in your child’s school bag.
