Fundraising Update

Each year we appeal to the generosity of our community during our annual fundraiser to help us purchase technology and program enhancements.  And each year we direct the money generated to a variety of program enhancements (e.g. bullying prevention & intervention presentation, author visits, sacrament keepsakes, Grade 8 Graduation, classroom enhancements, etc.) as well as technology (e.g. chromebooks, ipads, etc.).  Indeed, our investments in technology over the last number of years has served us exceedingly well, and we are continually improving on our instructional abilities to access the world beyond the classroom using technology.

We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge you –and our whole community—for your collective generosity.  We are pleased to announce that our final numbers are in and the OLA Catholic School Council raised $9,500.00 for their chocolate fundraising event. THAT’S AMAZING!  The Catholic School Council met on November 28th to discuss the school Wish List. They have agreed to help subsidize the purchase of new gym stage curtains, the funding of DrumFit for Grades K-8, sacrament keepsakes for Gr. 2 & 7, Grade 8 Graduation, funding for artist/scientist, benevolent fund and the continued purchase of chromebooks and iPads for the classrooms.

We recently received 24 Chromebooks and a class tech cart.  Now every Junior and Intermediate Class has a class set of Chromebooks.  Each year when we say ‘your fundraising dollars make a difference’ –we want to emphasize that they absolutely do.

Thank you to our hard working and dedicated Catholic School Council members and to each family that participated in our fundraising efforts.
