May is the month set aside by the Catholic Church to honour Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary was a woman of faith, and a model of hope, prayer, compassion and courage. Throughout this month, as always, let us put our trust in Mary’s help so that she can help us by her prayers.
This month we celebrate the virtue of responsibility. Our Grade 8 students will be venturing to Ottawa for their overnight trip on May 15-17, 2019. They will have an opportunity to demonstrate responsibility by being wonderful ambassadors for OLA School.
On Sunday, May 8th we celebrate Mother’s Day, paying tribute to our mothers, and to the many women who have influenced our lives — step-mothers, wives, aunts, sisters,
grandmothers, godmothers, nieces, and other special women. We wish God’s peace on all of these special women in our lives.
Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Elementary school will be hosting the Vocation
Traveling Chalice in our school the week of May 6-10. Students will be learning and praying for vocations to the priesthood and religious life and discovering that they each have a special calling from God to use their gifts and talents for others. We hope that you will join us in praying for vocations and support us during this faith centered week of prayer. By making collaborative efforts between the parish, the school and the family home, we can provide an authentic Christian faith experience in our community.
