School Yard Safety

In order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all of our children we ask that parents do not linger in the school yard. You will note that a new yellow line along the edge of the yard is there to assist parents in recognizing where the yard begins. We understand that you may wish to escort your Kindergarten child to the gated area. However, we ask that once you have dropped them you leave them in our care. In the morning we will have two adults in the Kindergarten area and two outside to watch the children. We also have a person in the front to ensure the younger students make their way to the back safely. Having other adults in the school yard makes it difficult for the supervisors to ensure the safety of the children – they will not be able to easily determine who is a stranger and this puts the children at risk. As well you are a stranger to the other children and this may cause them undue anxiety.

We also ask that you do not bring you dog on school property – we have children with animal allergies and some who are quite fearful of dogs.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation on these important safety issues!
