First Day Procedures

Dear St. Elizabeth Seton Families,

 Another beautiful summer has passed. We hope that everyone enjoyed their time with family and  friends. We welcome our many new families to our school. Staff members are busy preparing for a new school year. Listed below are a few reminders:

FIRST DAY PROCEDURES:

Classes begin Tuesday, September 3, 2019.  Upon arrival, students (Gr. 1- 8) will gather in the playground at the back of the school. Grade numbers will be posted along with class lists. Students are asked to line up accordingly. Teachers will meet students in their lines.  If it rains, Gr. 1 – 8 students will gather in the gym. Kindergarten students will gather in the Kindergarten yard on the west side of the school where teachers will meet them. If it rains, the teachers will guide students into their kindergarten rooms from that yard. Students will find out the name of their teachers on Tuesday morning.

SCHOOL DAY:

9:00 a.m.                         Classes Begin

10:25 – 10:40 a.m.           Morning Recess

12:00 – 12:20 p.m.          Lunch

12:20 – 1:00 p.m.             Lunch Recess

2:30  – 2:45 p.m.             Afternoon Recess

3:30 p.m.                         Dismissal

MORNING AND END OF DAY PROCEDURES: 

For busing, please check the transportation website for eligibility and route information at www.schoolbuscity.com. Please remember that cars are not to enter the school drive way (8:45 – 9:05 AM and from 3:15 – 3:45 PM) due to the number of buses. The parking lot, unfortunately, was not designed as a “kiss and ride” and parking itself  is very limited. If you are driving your child to school, please  park on a side street and walk with your child to the school property. Please ensure that you pay attention to the town’s by-law parking signs as they will ticket parents.

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATES:

We have a Safe Arrival Program here at St. Elizabeth Seton.  If your child will be absent or late, even on the first day, please call our Safe Arrival reporting line at 1-855-856-7862 or visit the website: www.go.schoolmessenger.ca . 

PURCHASING SCHOOL SUPPLIES:

Your child’s teacher will let your child know what will be needed. Please do not purchase items that may not be necessary.

 

If you should have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school at 905-853-0340.  The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Your child’s teacher will distribute more information next week.
