African/Caribbean-Canadian Consultation Events

Dear Parents and Guardians,

YCDSB believes that every student deserves an equal opportunity to be successful and is committed to working with all community stakeholders to ensure services are provided in an equitable and inclusive manner.

With this in mind, YCDSB staff has committed to a series of consultations with various equity-focused community groups in the coming months.

Over the past year, a series of meetings were held with community leaders from York Region’s African/Caribbean-Canadian organizations. Parents and families of YCDSB students of African/Caribbean heritage were also in attendance. The Board has engaged the services of the Kojo Institute to help facilitate the consultation process.
