St. Luke Staff to be Recognized at 2019 YSCPC Awards

At St. Luke, we are truly fortunate to have staff who are dedicated to their call to serve in Alternative Education. This year, two staff members will be recognized for their contribution at the YSCPC Outstanding Leadership Awards ceremony to be held on May 27th at St. Robert CHS.

Ms. DeRose has been a teacher on staff at St. Luke since 2011. She has also served as the program Guidance Counsellor. Students describe Ms. DeRose as kind, patient and always willing to give a second (or third) chance to anyone. Her gentle demeanor makes it easy for student to approach her and Ms. DeRose’s positive attitude and constant encouragement impacts everyone who works with her.

Ms. Lucie has been and EI/CYW at St. Luke since 2004. She is the first face students see each morning and the last on their way home in the afternoons. She goes the extra mile to connect students with community resources and supports. She is often the voice of reason and provides a comforting hug when needed. Her infectious laugh and positive reinforcement creates a safe place for students to come to school and truly be themselves.

Both of these professionals have contributed significantly to shaping the culture of care at St. Luke. They set a high standard of professionalism. Both are so passionate about their respective roles and we are so blessed to have them on staff. Congratulations!
