This year marked a historic milestone for the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB), as we celebrated our 50th Anniversary. For five decades, our Board has provided Catholic Education to generations of children and become an integral part of communities in York Region. We have grown from our humble beginnings to now encompassing 101 schools serving more than 53,000 students and employing more than 8000 people. This development is a testament to decades of commitment from our students, their parents/guardians and the staff of our Board to Catholic Education.

Over the course of 2019, our Board marked this incredible milestone through several events and initiatives. We formally marked our 50th Anniversary on Tuesday, May 7, with a special Mass celebrated by His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of Toronto and Honorary Chair of the YCDSB, followed by a Gala Dinner. In addition to the events on May 7, a number of other special projects were commissioned to coincide with this important milestone.
