The St. John Paul II community wholeheartedly endorsed the participation of our students in the Terry Fox Run/Walk on Friday, September 29th. Students gathered in the gym for prayer and a motivating video. They did a ’warm-up’ and headed out on their walk.

Across York Region, September 25th –29th was “Safety Awareness Week”. We practiced emergency procedures to familiarize staff and students with the precautionary steps to take should a situation arise (i.e. warning of severe weather; an intruder; evacuation). Throughout the year, practice drills will be initiated to ensure our school community can respond appropriately in the event of an emergency.
We Day 2017 was an amazing and inspiring event. We all are so happy that we were granted the opportunity to attend this one in a lifetime experience. At the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB), we echo the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) and the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario (ACBO) in their response to the Calls to Action through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
