St Monica CES Annual Family Christmas Event

St. Monica Catholic School Council hosted the Annual Family Christmas Event on December 14, 2017. Families came to decorate ornaments, have hot chocolate, sing Christmas carols and take photos with Santa. There were also opportunities to use a photo booth with family and friends. The St. Monica Luke 4:18 Committee worked with the Catholic School Council to put on a bake sale and poinsettia sale to raise funds for St.Monica, as well as the building of a school in Sierra Leone through WE Charity. It was a great success!

The Luke 4:18 Committee has been hard at work this school year selling Ghost Grams to raise funds for the school in Sierra Leone, collecting children’s books to send with Books With Wings to First Nations Communities in Northern Ontario and a coin drive with proceeds going to the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund to bring awareness to reconciliation. This past month of December the committee decided on two local actions: a Toy Drive for the Markham-Stouffville Hospital Children’s Centre and a Warm Clothing Drive for 360Kids. Thank you to the community for their continued support and partnership.‎
