Luke 4:18 Christmas Envelopes for our Northern Friends

Luke 4:18 is beginning Operation Christmas Envelopes!  Each class will be assigned a child to collect items which will be placed in a manila envelope and mailed to children living in Nunavut and northern Ontario.

SJA families can also sponsor a child by collecting items and putting them in a manila envelope.

For students in FDK to Gr 3 should include the following:   BOY or GIRL

* 1 colouring book

* pencil crayons/ crayons / markers..they can be popped out of packaging so they can lay flatter if necessary..

* a sheet of stickers

* a candy cane or an alternative piece of candy

* A packet of hot chocolate

* a Christmas card for the little one and his/her family (general sentiments inside are fine)

* One pair of socks

* Three other small items of your choice (bookmark, a Hot Wheels car, hair ties, nail stickers etc)

*** 5 dollars for shipping (High shipping costs due to fly-in community only)

If you are interested in sending extra treats for the school in general (ie: small decorations) those would be a most welcome surprise as well!

The contents for the manila envelope / packages for all ages are similar. Each student in the class will get to pick a random envelope distributed by their teachers 🙂

Each envelope is standardized to some extent with the opportunity for each sender to individualize their package. So each package is the same..yet different…so this will reduce things like jealousy.

For students Gr 4-  7 the contents are the following:    BOY   or GIRL

* Something to read–a comic book, a novel or something to write in such as a small diary (Promoting fun literacy! :-))

* A pair of socks

*A Christmas card

* A candy cane or one alternative piece of candy

* A packet of hot chocolate

* Five small items of the sender’s choice–Have fun individualizing you package! Things we sent for these kids included everything from temporary tattoos, pocket games and hockey cards for the boys and hair ties, crafts/activities and fashion accessories for the  girls. Feel free to share your ideas <3
