On January 7th, Grade 12 Photography students from St. Jean de Brebeuf Catholic High School in Woodbridge held a reception for their graduating exhibit called, “1929” at the historic Vellore Hall on Weston Road, which was transformed into an art gallery that night.
1929 was the year that women in Canada were legally acknowledged as “persons” and as such, the 1929 exhibit features photography that explores the influence feminism has had on our culture and society. All student artwork from this exhibit will be sold to benefit ETA Vaughan Women’s Shelter.
The exhibit also represents a culmination of four years of the students’ work as they have developed their skills and ideas during their time in high school.
