Family Science Night at St. Rene Goupil-St. Luke CES

The Catholic School Council for St. Rene Goupil – St Luke CES hosted a Family Science Night on Monday, November 14, 2016. The organization, Scientists in the Schools, was present and held various science workshops for students and their parents to explore.

Parents and children were immersed in hands-on science activities that inspired scientific inquiry and exploration.  Some of the workshops included: “the Planet Takes Flight,” “Obeying Newton’s Law,” “Math + Science = FUN” and “Please Play with your Food.”  The funding for this evening was generously provided by the Ontario’s Ministry of Education through the Parents Reaching Out Grant.

Parents had a wonderful time helping their children learn about science and extending scientific learning beyond the classroom walls. Many thanks go out to all of the school’s parent volunteers, and the Catholic School Council.
