St. Padre Pio Catholic School Community hosts the City of Vaughan 2017 Annual Toy Drive Launch, in support of the CP24 Chum Christmas Wish

St. Padre Pio Catholic School Community rose before sunrise on Monday, November 20th, to participate with such amazing energy in the City of Vaughan 2017 Toy Drive Launch in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish. This year marks the 51st annual CP24 Chum Christmas Wish, and the City of Vaughan’s 8th year participating in the drive. Since 2010, this toy drive has collected toys for hundreds of thousands of children across the Greater Toronto Area, including Vaughan, so children can enjoy the holiday season and have a smile of happiness on Christmas morning.

The launch was hosted by Grade 8 student emcees Isabella D. and Michael R. Officials from the York Catholic District School Board and City of Vaughan attended, including Frances Bagley, Associate Director, Marianne Fedrigoni, Superintendent of Education, Area 3, Vaughan Mayor, Maurizio Bevilacqua, and local councillors.

Words cannot express Principal Angela Lomuto-Corriero’s pride as the SPP students shared their God given talents as a testament to the message of Christmas: Hope, Love, Peace and Joy!  A heartfelt thank you and appreciation is extended to the parents, family members and support from the Catholic School Council for their incredible response of generosity of donating new unwrapped toys.

Deep gratitude is extended to the staff of St. Padre Pio Catholic School who continue to provide the students with the opportunity to excel and discover their gifts while developing their Catholic Leadership in assisting those in need.
