International Students Admission Information

We look forward to accepting new applications on February 1, 2021, for the school year commencing September, 2021. Renewals will be accepted as of March 1, 2021.

  1. Step 1Review our schools and choose your top 3 *Note: A Non-Catholic Agreement must be submitted for students who are not of Roman Catholic faith
  2. Step 2 – Review the International Student Application and Renewal Procedure
  3. Step 3 – Complete & Submit the Homestay & Custodianship applications through CHN or MLI (Note: If students are living with their parents, they do not require Homestay/Custodianship services)
  4. Step 4 – Complete & Submit the Application Package or Renewal Application Package
  5. Step 5Complete & Submit payment

Important Information

As of September 2021, in order to support student safety and well-being, international students MUST procure Homestay and Custodianship services from one (1) of the two YCDSB approved service providers: Canada Homestay Network (CHN) or Muskoka Language Institute (MLI). Please refer to instructions in the International Student Application & Renewal Procedure package below for further instructions.

The York Catholic District School Board will share your e-mail address with Vital English, the provider of our preliminary English language assessment, which will be used to assist with your child’s programming. The information is retained for 5 years, allowing students to access English and Math resources at their leisure.

Please note: Statutory Holidays will affect processing times of applications.

Application for admission to York Region Catholic Schools by foreign students (including U.S. citizens) are processed according to the Education Act, and to Immigration Canada laws and procedures; fees are applicable according to the YCDSB fee schedule. Refunds are granted according to the YCDSB refund policy.

All International Students’ applications must be processed through the Admissions Office at the Catholic Education Centre. Please contact the Admissions Office for additional assistance.
