We are excited to announce the Ontario government is investing $47.2 million for the construction of two new elementary schools that will share a building in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) in Thornhill. The building will house a York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB) elementary school and York Region District School Board (YRDSB) elementary school, as well as a childcare facility.
The new schools will create 1,134 student spaces (including 497 YCDSB student spaces) and 49 licensed childcare spaces. These cutting-edge learning environments will provide schools in the heart of the quickly growing VMC area. We are grateful for this opportunity to continue providing excellent education in the neighbourhood of our York Catholic students and families.
