The Community Use of School permit fees for 2023/2024 school year have increased by 6.8%.
Please be advised of very important changes to the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB) Community Use of Schools permit process:
Summary of Changes
Permits for school space will not be automatically renewed.
Permit applications will be accepted annually in the month of February for the next school year on a staggered approach based on classification of organization and will be approved on a first-come, first-serve basis. In order to provide fair access, the Board reserves the right to limit the number of permits held by one organization and priority will be given in descending order of classification A-E.
The new software will allow users to use a credit card that will be charged at the end of the month and will reflect the actual bookings. If a booking needs to be cancelled (ie: inclement weather) the credit card will not be charged.
Permit applications must be submitted for one day per application and must be within the hours of permits.
For weeknight permits there are two time slots. Permit applicants must select 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm OR 8:15 pm to 10:15 pm.
Permit applications must be submitted separately for each day of the weekend.
Weekend permits can operate from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
School Break Permits
School break permit applications can only be submitted by selecting one of the applicable permit types:
School break – non profit or School break – profit.
School break permits can operate from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Custodial overtime may be applicable after 3:00 pm.
Note: Permit applications for summer programs must be submitted prior to mid-May. Permits will be granted during July to mid-August based on availability and subject to approval.
